Marius Wiget is a contemporary mixed media artist from St. Gallen, Switzerland. He studied at Vorkurs before moving to New York City to earn a Fine Arts Certificate in Painting from the Art Students League of New York.
With a background in street art and graphic design, and inspiration drawn from Renaissance masters like Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, Wiget creates work at the intersection of realism and abstraction. His paintings and collages are rooted in form, color, and texture, yet grounded with tangible elements that offer viewers a point of entry into the abstract.
Wiget’s goal is simple: to make art accessible. As he explains, “No matter how much I may dislike a color, I don’t have a least favorite—because when it’s paired with another, it will always just work.” This philosophy of contextual harmony runs through his practice, inviting audiences to see abstraction as a spectrum rather than a parameter.
